Save the Children Bolsters its Board with Six New Trustees
FAIRFIELD, Conn. (February 26, 2025) — Global humanitarian organization Save the Children is pleased to announce the appointment of six seasoned leaders to its Board of Trustees today.
"We’re proud to welcome our new trustees and the wealth of knowledge they each bring to our Board and organization,” said Janti Soeripto, President and CEO of Save the Children US. “In times of change and in times of crisis, Save the Children will continue to do whatever it takes for children in the U.S. and around the world, as we’ve done for over 100 years. I’m confident that the expert counsel of our new trustees will bolster our resiliency and infuse fresh energy and perspectives as we continue to adapt to an ever-changing landscape.”

Cynthia McFadden
Cynthia McFadden brings over four decades of experience as a leader in broadcast journalism. A former co-anchor of ABC’s Nightline and Senior Investigative and Legal Correspondent at NBC News, she is currently writing a book. Cynthia has received numerous journalism accolades, including three Emmy Awards, two Peabody Awards, an Edward R. Murrow Award for hard news, the Overseas Press Club Award and a Loeb Award for business reporting. Her in-depth reporting on global issues, particularly the abuses faced by women and children, has led to policy changes and increased support for victims. She has first-hand experience visiting and covering various Save the Children early childhood education and emergency response programs. McFadden graduated summa cum laude from Bowdoin College and received a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law.
David Evans
David Evans is a seasoned public accounting leader with nearly 39 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC), specializing in retail and consumer markets. As a partner for 26 years, he has extensive experience in accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, M&A diligence and capital markets transactions. He led the Dallas/Fort Worth Consumer Products and Services sector and served as the Consumer Markets portfolio leader with the SEC & Capital Markets group in PwC’s National Office. David is a CPA and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, with a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics & Political Science. He is also a past president of the Dallas/Fort Worth Retail Executives Association.
Jeremy C. Kohomban
Jeremy Christopher Kohomban, PhD, is the President and CEO of The Children’s Village and President of Harlem Dowling —two charities founded in the mid-1800s dedicated to the well-being of children, teens and families. A key advocate for family-centered reforms, he contributed to the federal Family First Prevention Services Act. Under his leadership, The Children’s Village has become a national model for community-embedded family support. Jeremy’s work has earned recognition from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and numerous awards. He has served in various leadership roles, including chair of the Human Services Council of New York and trustee for Save the Children and the Save the Children Action Network (SCAN). He holds degrees from Emporia State University, Long Island University, Regent University, and an honorary LittD from Mercy College.
Mary Dillon
Mary N. Dillon is the President, CEO and Board Director of Foot Locker, Inc. With over four decades of experience in consumer marketing and operations, she is known for fostering inclusive work cultures that value and respect ideas from all levels. At Foot Locker, Inc., Mary spearheaded the Lace Up Plan in 2023, with the vision to amplify sneaker culture, strengthen the real estate portfolio, deepen customer loyalty and become a best-in-class omnichannel retailer. Previously, she was CEO and board member at Ulta Beauty for eight years. She has also served as President and CEO of US Cellular, Global CMO at McDonald’s Corporation, and President of Quaker Foods at PepsiCo. Mary is currently on the Board of Directors at KKR & Co. Inc., and previously at Starbucks Corporation and Save the Children. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and Asian studies from the University of Illinois in Chicago.
Mary-Ann Etiebet
Dr. Mary-Ann Etiebet is the President and CEO of Vital Strategies, where she oversees an annual budget of $110 million, leading efforts in over 80 countries to help build more equitable and effective public health systems. Previously, she directed $650M global health initiative Merck for Mothers, improving maternal health for over 50 million women, and led the development of Merck’s health equity strategy. Mary-Ann began her career at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, leading HIV/AIDS programs in Nigeria, and later worked on Medicaid and Medicare reforms in New York City. She holds an M.D. and MBA from Yale University. She serves on the Board of Directors at the Center for Global Development and on various global health advisory councils.
Michelle Peluso
Michelle Peluso is CEO and Board Member of Revlon Group Holdings LLC, where she is leading a holistic transformation of the company with a focus on consumers and innovation. As a seasoned brand-builder, she is passionate about maximizing Revlon brands’ potential for future generations. Previously, she served as Executive Vice President, Chief Customer Officer and Co-President of CVS Pharmacy at CVS Health; Senior Vice President, Digital Sales and Chief Marketing Officer at IBM; CEO of Gilt Groupe, Inc., and held executive roles at Citigroup, Travelocity and Site59. She began her career at the Boston Consulting Group. Michelle holds various degrees from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and Pembroke College at Oxford University. She is a White House Fellow and served as Senior Advisor to the Secretary of Labor. She is on the board of Nike.
