We help children get ready for kindergarten and learn to read by third grade — a major indicator of future success. We’re especially focused on reaching vulnerable children in rural America where early learning resources are scarce. Globally, we ensure that no child’s learning stops because they are caught up in crisis.

Save the Children is a global leader in child education
• In 2023 we educated over 2.7 million kids impacted by crisis and inequality – including 960,000 in Ethiopia and 561,000 in Yemen.
• We trained 87,500 teachers to improve child safeguarding, provide psychosocial support and help kids realize their full potential.
• Catch-up Clubs made up for missed learning opportunities, with 48% of our 58,244 participants reaching the highest levels of literacy achievement!
• We helped local partners build temporary learning spaces and replenish essential supplies.
• As co-leader of the Global Education Cluster, we champion impact at every level of government. In 2023, our efforts influenced national leaders to prioritize early childhood development – especially in Ethiopia, Kosovo, South Africa and Cote d’Ivoire.
